I just heard back. Thanks again for reporting this, but Development weren't able to reproduce the problem on their end; they were able to run the mod without problems without needing to modify the code. It sounds like you found a good alternative answer though.
I'm not sure if it's what happened to you but ... When running a mod more than once that has event blocks in it, it may help to go into the mod chest and click the white antler button in the chest. Or type the command / clear in chat each time after running the mod. That will clear the event so it can fire again.
